Bottled Water for Your Hair?
The same way that you steer away from shampoos that contain chlorine (yes, there are several leading brands that add chlorine to their formulas, to strip your hair of dirt and grime easily), you should avoid leaving chlorinated water on your hair after washing it. This may seem easier said than done, since nowadays all city water contains chlorine to kill bacteria. What’s good for your health is not always good for your hair, and this is a prime example. While chlorine will keep you amoeba free, it will also keep your hair free of its natural oils, removing that necessary fatty layer that protects against breakage. What to do, then? Use bottle water! Although the ideal would be not to let chlorinated water touch your hair ever, washing your entire hair with bottled water is not only impractical but can be quite expensive, depending on where you live. But if after you’re done washing your hair (yes, with regular oil-stripping chlorine-ridden H2O), you use one single bottle of water to rinse off the chlorinated water, your hair will be much less prone to breakage and split ends, let alone more manageable and quite softer. Even though tap water will [...]
How to Get Fuller Hair
Full hair is synonymous with hair that has plenty of volume, is bouncy and does not look flat or “just there”. If your hair is naturally flat or scarce, this is how to get a fuller mane: Use Volumizing Products Start out by washing your hair with a shampoo specifically formulated for fine thin hair. Rinse thoroughly and apply a good quality conditioner to help your hair be healthier and in good condition, since healthy hair has more bounce and body. After thoroughly conditioning your hair rinse off all product, as leaving conditioner on your hair will weight it down. It is also a good idea to use a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove all leftover styling products which may be weighting your hair down. Towel dry your hair and apply a root lifter to your roots, which is a product that helps increase volume where it counts the most: the first inch of hair attached to your scalp. Blow Dry Your Hair Upside Down Apply volumizing moosse to the full extension of your hair. Then tilt your hair down and blow dry from the roots down towards the ends. Scrunch a section of your hair in your [...]
Hair Myth #2 – Brushing Your Hair is Good
Brushing your hair is actually terrible for it. Tell you what: lean over your sink, and brush your hair right over it. When you’re done, you’ll notice lots of pieces of hair and even full length strands laying in the sink. The reason? Brushing your hair breaks the weaker strands, and is the main cause for split ends. I have heard lots of beauticians advise their clients to brush their hair with a round brush to bring down the oil that is close to the scalp all the way to the ends. By the time your brush reaches the ends of your hair, there’s no oil left on it, so if you want to add oil or moisturize the tips of your hair, simply apply an oil treatment, but do not brush it! If you still feel the urge to use a brush, then so be it, but keep in mind that the only time to brush your hair is right after you wash your hair and put plenty of conditioner in it, and you should only do so with a flat brush with bristles that are at least 1/3 of a inch apart. In other words: never brush your [...]
How to Get Longer Hair
Long hair is very feminine, sexy and by far the most flattening aspect of a woman’s physique, so it’s no wonder most of us want to have long flowing locks. But, how to get longer hair? First off, you need to accept that it takes time, unless you’re opting for hair extensions. But here are a few tips that will make your hair get longer faster. Eat Oily Foods Oil is good for your hair and not only makes it shinier, but stronger as well. And strong hair grows faster and lasts longer (yes, hair has an expiration date!) Even though applying an olive oil mask to your hair will improve its quality, there is no substitute for the oil you consume orally. Hair that is oil-nurtured also gets less split ends, the main enemy of long hair. Trim Your Hair Yes, you read it right. Hair that is not regularly trimmed at least once every 2 months, tends to split at the ends, therefore breaking and getting shorter. Just have your hair stylist take half an inch off the end to get rid of the older hair and take off any split ends you may have. Load up on [...]
Get Shinier Hair in One Day
To make your hair shinier in just one day, look no further than your kitchen. Just mix 4 parts of honey and 2 parts of freshly squeezed lemon juice and apply it to your hair right after washing it. DO NOT RINSE. Simply squeeze extra liquid from your hair and detangle your hair with mixture in it. Towel dry your hair and brush it with a round natural bristle brush. This simple hair remedy is good for both light and dark colored hair. Dark hair will also benefit from the use of vinegar. After shampooing as you normally do, rinse your hair thoroughly with cool water and finish with a mixture of 1 gallon of water + 5 tablespoons of white vinegar. DO NOT RINSE. Instead, leave this in your hair, and let it dry naturally without the use of a blow dryer. Your hair will be bouncy and shiny. To get a shine to dull hair, one can also use honey and lemon juice in your last rinse after shampooing hair, and do not wash it out. Instead, dry your hair well and brush vigorously. The sheen that is seen is all natural glow of one of the most [...]
Get Stronger Hair
Getting stronger hair is one of women’s main concern, mostly those with long manes, which tend to get brittle and have split ends if not trimmed often. But with our hair tips there is no need to trim your hair any longer! Simply make a mixture of virgin olive oil, 1 or 2 egg yolks and 5 drops of black iodine. Mix well and apply to whole extension of your hair. Wrap your head in a warm towel and keep it on for one whole hour. Then wash with tepid water and a mild shampoo, and finish with cool water. Then let your hair dry on its own, without using a hair dryer. Repeat this treatment once a week for a whole month and you will fall in love with your hair again! This mixture gives your hair all the nutrients that it needs, so there is no need to spend money on expensive commercial hair treatments. Please note that some websites recommend that you use mayonaise on your hair, but I strongly recommend you stay away from this, since mayonaise contains sugar and salt which are big no-nos for hair. Vinegar, on the other hand, which is another ingredient [...]
How to Get Better Hair
Getting better hair is as simple as heading for your kitchen and mixing equal parts of virgin olive oil and honey and rubbing it on your scalp. Don’t go cheap on yourself, and use a generous amount of both ingredients. After you’ve covered your entire scalp in this mixture, wrap your head in a warm towel (you can warm it in your microwave) and keep it on your hair for at least 15 minutes. Repeat this simple treatment at least once a week and you will notice a rapid improvement in the quality of your hair, making all new growth much stronger. This will also contribute to stop hair loss. If you have leftover mixture and have long hair, go ahead and spread it on the rest of your hair, since both olive oil and honey are excellent natural hair conditioners highly recommended for long strands.
